- Great gift ideaChosen for real-world gifting
- Hand-pickedCurated, not scraped
- Honest reviewThe catch, not just the hype
Why this gift works
A hexagonal dice tray in faux leather with a velvet rolling surface. Snap the corners together and it becomes a 6.5-inch rolling arena with 2-inch walls; unsnap them and it lies flat enough to slide into a bag with the rulebooks.
It fixes the most common game-night annoyance: dice bouncing off the table, knocking over miniatures or rolling under the couch. The velvet also softens the clatter, which matters more than you would think at 11pm in an apartment.
Who is this gift for?
Great for
- A player whose dice keep ending up under the couch
- Someone who just got a heavy set of metal dice
Think twice if
- They already have a tray they love
- They mostly play online
The catch
At 6.5 inches across, the rolling surface is on the small side for throwing a big handful of damage dice at once, and snap trays take a moment to set up each session.
Skip if they already roll into a tray or box they love, or play mostly online.
Worth knowing before you buy
- The rolling surface is 6.5 inches across.
- It comes in several colors and dragon-hide finishes; the listing shows which one you are buying.
Why we like it
- Dice stay on the table instead of the floor
- Velvet quiets every roll
- Folds flat for the trip to game night
Questions people ask
The rolling surface is 6.5 inches across with 2-inch walls when snapped up. Laid flat it measures about 10.75 inches.
