- Great gift ideaChosen for real-world gifting
- Hand-pickedCurated, not scraped
- Honest reviewThe catch, not just the hype
Why this gift works
An official D&D miniature from WizKids' Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures line: a young red dragon on a round base, with a small treasure-hoard piece. It comes primed and unpainted, with little to no assembly, so it is ready for paint the day it arrives.
Every Dungeon Master wants a dragon on the table eventually, and a wyrmling is one a low-level party can actually survive. Painted or not, it makes the moment the party meets it feel like an event.
Who is this gift for?
Great for
- A DM planning the party's first dragon fight
- Someone who just got a painting starter kit
Think twice if
- They want a finished display piece
- Their group doesn't use figures on the table
The catch
It is unpainted by design - it arrives primed, not in dragon red - so it suits someone who paints or doesn't mind a plain mini on the table.
Skip for someone who wants a finished, painted display piece; WizKids sells prepainted miniature lines for that.
Worth knowing before you buy
- It arrives primed but unpainted.
- A small treasure-hoard piece comes with it.
Why we like it
- An official D&D dragon for the table
- Comes primed, so it is ready for paint
- A small price for a big moment in the game
Questions people ask
No - it comes primed and ready to paint. That is the point of the Nolzur's line.
