- Great gift ideaChosen for real-world gifting
- Hand-pickedCurated, not scraped
- Honest reviewThe catch, not just the hype
Why this gift works
A full seven-piece polyhedral set - the d4, d6, d8, d10, percentile d10, d12 and d20 a D&D player uses - made in metal with a dagger design and packed in a metal box. Metal dice have a weight and a sound that plastic dice don't, and a d20 that lands with a thud is half the appeal.
They are the classic upgrade for a player who already owns a pile of plastic sets. A metal set becomes the good dice: the ones that come out for the boss fight or a character's big moment.
Who is this gift for?
Great for
- A player who already owns a drawer of plastic sets
- A new player choosing their first serious set
Think twice if
- Their group rolls on bare wood or glass
- It is for a young child
The catch
Metal dice are heavy enough to dent a wooden table or chip other dice, so they really want a dice tray or a padded surface to roll on.
Skip for a group that rolls on bare wood or glass with no tray, or for a young child - metal dice are small, heavy and not a toy.
Worth knowing before you buy
- Pair them with a tray - metal dice can mark a table.
- The listing shows this set's color; other colors are sold separately.
Why we like it
- A weight and sound plastic dice can't match
- A full seven-die set, ready to play
- The metal box keeps them together between games
