Randolph Engineering has made military-style flight glasses for the US Department of Defense since 1982, and its Aviator is the civilian version. This pair has a gunmetal frame, non-polarized American Gray lenses in SkyTec mineral glass that block UVA and UVB, and bayonet temples designed to slide comfortably under a headset. It comes with a hard case and a microfiber pouch, and Randolph says it is made in the USA from US and global components.
Non-polarized is the right choice for pilots, because polarized lenses can black out or distort glass-cockpit screens and some instruments.
