- Great gift ideaChosen for real-world gifting

- Honest reviewThe catch, not just the hype
Why this gift works
Anyone who types all day notices a good mechanical keyboard. The Keychron K2 is a compact 75% layout - 84 keys, no number pad - with tactile brown switches that give a soft bump without the loud click. This version has RGB backlighting and an aluminum frame.
It connects over Bluetooth to up to three devices or by USB-C cable, and a switch on the side flips between Mac and Windows layouts, with keycaps for both in the box. The 4000mAh battery lasts days of use with the backlight on.
Who is this gift for?
Great for
- A developer who codes on a laptop and a desktop
- A writer who types for hours
Think twice if
- They use the number pad daily
- They want a very low-profile keyboard
The catch
The case is fairly tall, so many people add a wrist rest for long sessions, and there is no number pad.
Skip for someone who needs a number pad or already loves their mechanical keyboard.
Worth knowing before you buy
- A wrist rest helps with the tall case.
- Battery life drops with the backlight on.
Why we like it
- Satisfying tactile typing
- Switches between three devices
- Mac and Windows keycaps included
- Compact layout keeps the mouse close
Questions people ask
Yes - a side switch changes modes, and keycaps for both systems are included.
