Why this gift works
Patchwork is a two-player game by Uwe Rosenberg from Lookout Games, for ages 8 and up, taking 15 to 30 minutes. Each player fills a 9-by-9 quilt board with fabric patches bought with buttons, and every patch also costs time on a shared track - the player further behind always moves next. At the end, buttons are points and empty squares cost points. This is the revised edition, released in January 2026 with new colors and artwork.
Two-player games that are quick, clever and easy to set up are rarer than they should be, and this one has been a favorite of couples for years. The quilting theme makes it a natural gift for a crafter too.
